Active Outdoor Discovery Workshops
This week we were visited by a representative from the ‘Active Outdoor Discovery’ company. The children started the day by taking part in an interactive ‘Rainforest’ themed assembly which followed a group of children who took part an expedition to Borneo exploring native animals and their habitats. This assembly was followed by an individual class “Map Skills and Mini-Orienteering” session for Years 1 to 6. The children really enjoyed hunting for hidden markers and plotting these on a map of our school grounds. Pupils developed their map skills including using grid references and Ordnance Survey symbols and keys.
